The use and difference of various polyaluminum chloride

Polyaluminum chloride (PAC), as a new water purification material, is widely used in the field of water treatment. Its use methods and differences are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Method of use

1. Dissolution and dilution: whether it is solid or liquid PAC, it needs to be dissolved and diluted according to a certain proportion. Solid PAC is usually dissolved in water at a ratio of 1:3, and then diluted to the desired concentration by adding 10-30 times of clear water. Liquid PAC can be diluted by adding a certain amount of aqueous solution directly.

2. dosage: the dosage of PAC shall be determined according to the turbidity of raw water. Generally speaking, when the turbidity of raw water is 100-500mg/L, the dosage per thousand tons of water is 10-20kg. When the dosage is too large, the dilution concentration can be appropriately increased.

3. Stir evenly: PAC should be stirred evenly after preparation to ensure its uniform distribution and effect in water.

Difference

1. color and purity: the color of PAC has white, yellow, brown and so on. PAC of different colors is different in purity and application. White PAC is mostly pure or food grade, while yellow or tan PAC may contain impurities or iron powder and is used for general industrial water treatment.

2. Aluminum content: The aluminum content of PAC is also an important indicator to distinguish its quality. The aluminum content of industrial grade PAC is between 27-29%, while the aluminum content of food grade or drinking water grade PAC needs to be above 30%.

3. Salinity and water insolubles: The higher the salinity, the better the water purification effect of PAC. At the same time, the water insoluble content is also an important parameter to measure the quality of PAC. The water insoluble content of industrial grade PAC should be ≤ 2%, while that of drinking water grade or food grade PAC should be ≤ 0.3.

4. Manufacturer: PAC of different manufacturers has differences in raw materials, production process and quality control, so choosing a manufacturer is very important to ensure the quality and effect of PAC.

To sum up, the use of polyaluminum chloride and the difference is mainly reflected in the dissolution and dilution, dosage, color purity, aluminum content, basicity, water insoluble and manufacturers. In practical applications, appropriate PAC products should be selected according to specific needs and water quality conditions, and scientific and reasonable use methods should be followed.
